{"id":1689,"date":"2018-12-17T12:27:41","date_gmt":"2018-12-17T18:27:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.basham.com.mx\/Blog\/?p=1689"},"modified":"2018-12-17T12:27:41","modified_gmt":"2018-12-17T18:27:41","slug":"national-hydrocarbons-plan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/basham.com.mx\/en\/national-hydrocarbons-plan\/","title":{"rendered":"NATIONAL HYDROCARBONS PLAN"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>NATIONAL HYDROCARBONS\nPLAN<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On December 16, 2018, Mexican President, Andr\u00e9s\nManuel L\u00f3pez Obrador announced a new National Hydrocarbons Plan which aims to\nincrease the oil extraction to 2.4 million barrels of crude oil per day in 2024.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among the announcements made by the Mexican\nPresident related to this plan are: <strong>(i)<\/strong>\ninvest in exploration blocks located in Tabasco, Veracruz and Campeche without\npublic debt; <strong>(ii)<\/strong> re-locate the\ngeneral offices of the State-Owned Productive Company, PEMEX, in Ciudad del\nCarmen, Campeche; <strong>(iii)<\/strong> issue a new\nbusiness plan for PEMEX aimed to increase the oil production. This plan\nadditionally will increase the hydrocarbons reservoirs and accelerate the\ndevelopment of the blocks already discovered; <strong>(iv)<\/strong> fight against corruption inside PEMEX; <strong>(v)<\/strong> rehabilitation of the six existing refineries; <strong>(vi)<\/strong> construction of an additional\nrefinery in Dos Bocas, Tabasco.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">PEMEX director, Romero Oropeza stated that the\nplan intends to develop 117 wells though new types of agreements to be granted\nto private companies. Activities would be focused in 20 fields that already\nhave reserves 2P and that may produce oil in the short term. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The referred plan additionally foresees to\ndrill more wells in 12 fields located in shallow waters and 8 more in onshore\nblocks. Agreements for these works are expected to begin in January 2018.
