{"id":19664,"date":"2018-12-18T17:53:59","date_gmt":"2018-12-18T23:53:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.basham.com.mx\/Blog\/?p=1694"},"modified":"2018-12-18T17:53:59","modified_gmt":"2018-12-18T23:53:59","slug":"the-2019-general-minimum-wage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/basham.com.mx\/en\/the-2019-general-minimum-wage\/","title":{"rendered":"THE 2019 GENERAL MINIMUM WAGE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>THE 2019 GENERAL MINIMUM WAGE.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On\nDecember 17, 2018, the National Minimum Wage Commission (CONASAMI for its\nSpanish acronym), by tripartite and unanimous ruling of its members, announced that\nas of January 1<sup>st<\/sup>, 2019, the general minimum wage will be increased to\n<strong>Mx$102.68<\/strong> a day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The\nincrease was calculated by adding Mx$9.43 to the current minimum daily wage (Mx$88.36)\nbased on the so-called independent recovery amount (MIR for its Spanish acronym),\nand applying to the resulting amount ($97.79), an advanced increase of 5% for the\nyear 2019M; thus, the total increase is 16.2% over the current amount.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Also,\nCONASAMI approved a 5% increase on the occupational minimum wages currently in\neffect, and the new wage amounts will depend on the increase to be made to each\noccupation listed by CONASAMI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Furthermore,\na daily minimum wage applicable to Mexico\u2019s Northern Border Duty-Free Zone\n(ZLFN for its Spanish acronym), comprising the municipalities located within a 25\nkilometers strip of land south of the Mexico-U.S. border and some adjacent\nmunicipalities was approved to Mx$176.72, representing a 100% increase over the\ncurrent 2018 minimum wage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For the\noccupational minimum wages in such border area, the daily wage amounts will be equalized\nto Mx$176.72, except for two categories of news reporters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"text-align:center\">SINCERELY<\/p>\n\n\n\n<table class=\"wp-block-table\"><tbody><tr><td>\n  Jorge De Presno\n  <\/td><td>\n  jorgedepresno@basham.com.mx\n  <\/td><\/tr><tr><td>\n  Alvaro Gonz\u00e1lez\n  <\/td><td>\n  agonzalez@basham.com.mx\n  <\/td><\/tr><tr><td>\n  Luis Antonio Alvarez\n  <\/td><td>\n  lalvarez@basham.com.mx\n  <\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"text-align:center\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"text-align:center\">Mexico City, December 18th, 2018<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>THE 2019 GENERAL MINIMUM WAGE.
