The Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) and the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare (STPS) signed an institutional collaboration agreement creating a formal relationship between two of their most significant health programs: a) IMSS:<\/strong> Safe and Healthy Work Environment Program (ELSSA) and b)<\/strong> STPS:<\/strong> Voluntary Labor Verification Program (VELAVO). Through this strategic alliance, companies will be able to report their voluntary compliance with labor standards and create safer and healthier environments to promote a culture of safety in the work center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n One of the main benefits of this alliance is that companies that comply with the requirements of the \u201cDistintivo CERO\u201d granted by the Ministry of Labor (STPS) and have the ELSSA program actions accredited, may enter VELAVO’s Occupational Safety and Health module and be exempt from STPS ordinary labor inspections for a twelve-month period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This benefit simplifies the administrative procedures for companies and promotes the continuous improvement in the health and safety conditions at work.
