{"id":26320,"date":"2025-06-11T17:03:49","date_gmt":"2025-06-11T17:03:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/basham.com.mx\/?p=26320"},"modified":"2025-06-11T17:03:50","modified_gmt":"2025-06-11T17:03:50","slug":"final-days-before-the-chair-law-enters-into-force","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/basham.com.mx\/en\/final-days-before-the-chair-law-enters-into-force\/","title":{"rendered":"Final days before the \u201cChair Law\u201d enters into force"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"has-text-align-right wp-block-paragraph\">June 11, 2025<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On June 17, 2025, the reform to various articles of the Federal Labor Law, published on December 18, 2024, and commonly referred to as the \u201cChair Law\u201d, will officially come into force.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With just a few days remaining before its effective date, it is important to keep in mind the key obligations that this reform imposes on workplaces:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022\u2003Provide chairs or seats with back support to employees in the service, retail, and similar sectors, either for performing their duties or for taking periodic breaks (effective as of June 17, 2025).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022\u2003Refrain from requiring employees to remain standing throughout their entire workday (effective as of June 17, 2025).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022\u2003When the nature of the work does not allow for it to be performed seated, chairs must be placed in designated areas to allow employees to take rest breaks (effective as of June 17, 2025).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022\u2003Update Internal Work Regulations to include mandatory rest periods, as well as provisions governing the proper use of seating during the workday (effective as of December 17, 2025).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is important to note that while the reform will take effect on June 17, 2025, companies will have an additional 180 calendar days from that date to make the necessary updates to their Internal Work Regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Additionally, the Ministry of Labor has yet to issue specific regulations or guidelines regarding the occupational risks associated with prolonged standing.
