{"id":27742,"date":"2026-08-06T13:50:01","date_gmt":"2026-08-06T19:50:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/basham.com.mx\/?p=27742"},"modified":"2026-08-06T13:51:22","modified_gmt":"2026-08-06T19:51:22","slug":"2026-2030-institutional-program-of-litio-para-mexico","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/basham.com.mx\/en\/2026-2030-institutional-program-of-litio-para-mexico\/","title":{"rendered":"2026-2030 Institutional Program of Litio para M\u00e9xico"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"has-text-align-right wp-block-paragraph\">August 06, 2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/basham.com.mx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/2.-Note-Litio-para-Mexico-Institutional-Program-BRC-06.08.2026-1-1024x409.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-27744\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The so-called <em>Litio para M\u00e9xico<\/em> (\u201c<strong><u>LitioMx<\/u><\/strong>\u201d) published in the Federal Official Gazette (<em>Official Journal of the Federation<\/em>) the 2026\u20132030 Institutional Program of LitioMX (<em>Programa Institucional de Litio para M\u00e9xico 2026\u20132030<\/em>) (the \"<strong><u>Program<\/u><\/strong>\u201d), which sets out LitioMx\u2019s institutional roadmap through 2030 to strengthen Mexico\u2019s energy sovereignty and promote sustainable development of domestic lithium value chain, in alignment with the 2025\u20132030 National Development Plan (<em>Plan Nacional de Desarrollo 2025\u20132030<\/em>) and the 2025\u20132030 Energy Sector Program (<em>Programa Sectorial de Energ\u00eda 2025\u20132030<\/em>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Below are the key points of the Program:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>I. Strategic objectives<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Consolidate exploration, assessment and technical management of lithium resources in Mexico.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Develop active materials and other intermediate products within the lithium value chain.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Establish a small-scale industrial facility for the production of battery packs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Develop studies and small-scale applications for stationary energy storage.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Improve energy, environmental and circular performance of the lithium value chain.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Develop legal and regulatory framework applicable to lithium as a strategic area.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>II. Investment opportunities and regulatory outlook<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Develop domestic capabilities in active materials, battery-pack manufacturing, stationary energy storage and industrial scaling.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Establish national and international strategic alliances to promote technology transfer and joint research with automotive and energy industries.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>LitioMx may associate with public and private institutions for production, transformation and distribution of lithium-derived products.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prepare proposals for specific lithium statute, implementing regulations and administrative instruments applicable to lithium value chain.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Private-sector participation will depend on legal framework subsequently issued and structure adopted by LitioMx for each project.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lithium exploration, exploitation, beneficiation and use remain reserved to the Mexican State.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>III.
