Accordingly, to the Master Program of the Port of Veracruz published 1n 2011, the Port of Veracruz is the country’s largest commercial port and it is the only one that manipulates 100% of the purely commercial cargo and the only that manipulates significantly the most important six segments of cargo at national level (containerized cargo, general cargo, agricultural bulk, ore bulk, vehicles and non-oil fluids).
The General Coordinator of the Ports and Merchant Navy (hereinafter referred as the “Coordinator”) declared in an interview to the media on December 15th, 2015 that the New Port of Veracruz might become the largest terminal of the country, with greater capacity than Lázaro Cárdenas and Manzanillo Ports. New ships arrival to the New Port of Veracruz are expected on 2018. Federal Electric Commission (CFE) pilot project:
 
CFE has recently announced that it will call for a pilot project to liberalize and rent its fuel storage capacity for over 10 million barrels, until 2030.
 
The process will be conducted by the State-Owned Subsidiary of CFE known as CFE Energy and is expected to take place during this first semester of 2017.
 
In Baja California, CFE will offer 10 tanks with a storage capacity of 574 thousand barrels located in Rosarito, Ensenada and Mexicali.
 
In Sonora, 21 tanks will be offered with a capacity of one thousand and twenty barrels in Guaymas, Puerto Libertad and Caborca.

It is important to inform, that early this month, January 2017, was announced by the Ministry of Communications and Transportation, that the consortium owned by the business man, Carlos Slim Helú, acquired a nearly $4 billion contract for the construction of the terminal for the New Airport of Mexico City. The consortium which acquired such contract, is controlled by Grupo Carso (Group owned by Slim).
 
The infrastructure of this new airport will be one of the largest infrastructure projects that will be developed in Latin America (according to information provided by Forbes.com).
