Government announces the closure of all cargo operations at Mexico City International Airport.

Mexico City, February 3rd, 2023.

The Decree establishing the closure of the Mexico City International Airport for concessionaires that provide regular and non-regular, national and international air transport exclusive cargo was published on February 1st, 2023.

The executive order establishes a maximum grace period of 108 business days for relocating its operations to another airport.

We consider that there are sufficient legal arguments to challenge this executive order since it can be considered unconstitutional and inequitable. A possible course of action would be an amparo action (constitutional action) during the following 30 business days to avoid affecting the companies involved. The deadline to file the amparo action is March 22, 2023.
