Adolfo Athié has extensive experience in administrative litigation and intangible protection before federal courts, including privacy matters and data protection.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Adolfo Athié ha desarrollado estrategias para compensar el tiempo perdido de la vigencia de patentes por retraso burocrático. Asimismo, él ha obtenido, en la defensa de los registros marcarios de sus clientes, la declaratoria de inconstitucionalidad de ciertos artículos de la anterior Ley de la Propiedad Industrial, casos que fueron publicados como relevantes por el periódico Reforma en México. Adolfo Athié ha defendido con éxito nombres de dominio a través de paneles internacionales, como la Organización Mundial de la Propiedad Intelectual (“OMPI”).

RECOGNITIONS

Recognized since 2015 as a prominent lawyer in Intellectual Property Law by the international publications Chambers & Partners, Best Lawyers, Legal 500 and Trademark Review among others.

Adolfo Athié has published numerous articles and essays on different topics in the United States magazine, “Privacy Law Adviser, Managing Intellectual Property, World Finance, Chambers & Partners” and The Mexican law magazines “El Foro, La Barra, el Abogado Corporativo”, among others.

He was part of the working group at the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property to amend the Mexican Industrial Property Law in 1999-2000 and promoted the bill to amend the Industrial Property Law in order to reduce the time needed to obtain damages. It is still pending.
