Leading Mexican law firm Basham, Ringe y Correa is pleased to announce the expansion of its Criminal Law and Intellectual Property Practices with the addition of Mario Uribe as a Partner in its Mexico City office.

Mario Uribe is a highly experienced criminal law attorney who has represented prominent national and international clients in complex federal and state criminal proceedings. His practice encompasses both defense work and the representation of victims in high-profile and sophisticated matters.

He is widely recognized for developing innovative litigation strategies, often supported by special legislation in areas such as health, environmental, and intellectual property law, allowing him to deliver comprehensive, effective, and results-driven solutions. In addition, Mario advises clients on the design and implementation of criminal compliance and anti–money laundering programs, with a strong focus on risk prevention and management. Mario has led and overseen major intellectual property enforcement actions, including more than 40 raids in a single year and the seizure and destruction of illegal goods worth tens of millions of dollars. One of his key achievements is strengthening the prosecution of IP crimes in Mexico, allowing clients to obtain fair compensation for damages.

Mario holds a Law Degree and an LL.M. (with honors) from Universidad Panamericana and is currently a doctoral candidate. He is also a Criminal Law lecturer at Universidad Panamericana, where he has taught since 2013. He is the author of “Derecho penal de la propiedad industrial” (Tirant Lo Blanch, 2022) and is a frequent speaker and moderator at national and international forums on criminal law and human rights.
