Basham, Ringe y Correa Advises C6 Captured Corp. on the Negotiation and Execution of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Quintana Roo Ministry of Ecology and Environment

Basham, Ringe y Correa advised C6 Captured Corp. on the negotiation and execution of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Quintana Roo Ministry of Ecology and Environment (Secretaría de Ecología y Medio Ambiente – SEMA), establishing a framework for collaboration to develop initiatives aimed at strengthening climate action, ecosystem conservation, and innovative environmental financing mechanisms in the State of Quintana Roo.

The Memorandum of Understanding provides for cooperation between the parties in the design and implementation of a jurisdictional carbon emissions reduction and carbon credit generation program under the ART TREES international standard. It also promotes REDD+ (Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation) initiatives, climate change adaptation measures, and actions to protect approximately 2.89 million hectares across the state, while promoting the active participation of local communities and seeking to ensure that they share in the benefits of the program..

Basham provided comprehensive legal counsel to C6 Captured Corp. throughout the structuring, negotiation, and execution of the Memorandum of Understanding, contributing to the effective implementation of the agreement and the achievement of its strategic objectives.
