EXPERIENCE
Hiromi Takata is an attorney specialized in intellectual property, with a practice primarily focused on trademarks. Her experience includes the protection, registration, maintenance, and enforcement of trademark portfolios in Mexico for national and international clients.
Her practice includes conducting trademark clearance searches and registrability analyses, filing national trademark applications, responding to office actions and provisional refusals, handling oppositions, and managing the procedures required to maintain trademark rights.
She also participates in the preparation of legal opinions on trademark registrability, the negotiation of coexistence agreements and consent letters, as well as in contentious matters related to intellectual property.
She also has experience in copyright filings before the National Copyright Institute, as well as in coordinating with foreign associates and international clients on matters related to trademark protection in Mexico.
Previously, she worked at a boutique law firm specialized in intellectual property, where she was involved in matters related to the registration and protection of trademarks for national and international clients, including the management of international registrations and trademark portfolios, as well as advising multinational clients in the industrial and logistics sectors.
She also served as in-house counsel at a major Mexican business group in the financial and commercial sectors, where she participated in the management of intellectual property portfolios for several companies within the group at both the national and international levels.
Her work included handling trademark registrations abroad, managing domain names, and assisting in proceedings for the recognition of well-known trademarks before the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property, as well as brand protection actions on the internet, including the removal of infringing content from digital platforms.
