PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Ramón de la Torre Medina is an attorney with over 17 years of professional experience, specializing in tax law. Throughout his career, he has advised both domestic and international companies on a broad range of tax matters, with a particular focus on international taxation, tax consulting, and dispute resolution with tax authorities.
Since 2025, he has been a partner at Basham, Ringe y Correa, where he leads various strategic tax-related projects. Prior to joining Basham, he worked at another leading law firm in Mexico City, where he was involved in complex, high-profile tax matters.
Ramón also served as a tax advisor to the Undersecretary for Revenues at the Mexican Ministry of Finance, gaining a comprehensive perspective on the country’s tax system from within the public sector.

Tax Committee Secretary in the Mexican Bar Association (BMA) and in the International Fiscal Association (IFA) Precedents Committee. He has published articles in specialized magazines, such as Tax Analysts.
AWARDS
He was a Fulbright scholar in 2015 and has been recognized by Chambers and Partners with potential and an upward trajectory; and as “Ones to Watch” by Best Lawyers.
ACADEMIC EXPERIENCE
He is currently professor in a tax graduate program in the Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico (ITAM) and previously he was a tax law research assistant in the UNAM Institute of Legal Research.
