Increase in minimum wages.

Mexico City, December 17th, 2019.

 

On December 16, 2019, the national minimum wage commission (CONASAMI for its Spanish acronym), by tripartite and unanimous agreement of its members, announced that as of January 1st, 2020, the general minimum wage will be increased on a 20% over the current applicable wage, which results in the amount of mxn $123.22 per day.

The increase is formed by adding mxn $14.67 to the current minimum daily wage (mxn $102.68) based on the Independent Recovery Amount (MIR for its Spanish acronym) and a 5% to the amount applicable for 2019.

Furthermore, the daily minimum wage for the northern border free zone of the country (ZLFN for its Spanish acronym), was increased to mxn $185.56 which represents a 5% increase for inflationary factor over the current 2019 minimum wage (mxn $176.22).
