Basham, Ringe y Correa, Mexican law firm Basham, Ringe y Correa has announced the renewal of its Executive Committee following an internal election process carried out in accordance with the firm’s governance rules and long-standing institutional practices.
As a result of this process, Amílcar Peredo has been appointed Managing Partner (Socio Administrador), while Juan Carlos Serra has been elected as Co-Managing Partner (Socio Administrador Adjunto). Both partners bring extensive experience to their new roles, having previously served on several of the firm’s committees and played an active role in its administration and strategic management over the years.
Amílcar Peredo, with 30 years of experience, is recognized as one of Mexico’s leading economic competition lawyers. He advises national and international clients on complex high-impact matters before the Federal Economic Competition Commission (COFECE), now the National Antitrust Commission (CNA), across a wide range of sectors, including automotive, energy, technology, aerospace, food and beverages, as well as the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. He holds a law degree from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), earned a master’s degree from Georgetown University, and is the author of the book Economic Competition: Theory and Practice.
Juan Carlos Serra is an attorney specializing in corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, energy, and mining, with extensive experience advising on complex domestic and international transactions. He is widely recognized as one of Mexico’s leading lawyers in Project Development, with nearly three decades of experience advising on some of the country’s most significant projects. He has a strong track record in the structuring and implementation of complex projects, including public-private partnerships (PPPs), government concessions, long-term supply agreements, and public procurement processes.In addition to Peredo and Serra, the renewed Executive Committee is comprised of partners Gilberto Valle, Juan Carlos Hernández and David Puente, who also served on other firm’s committees, reflecting a balanced leadership team, a deep knowledge of the firm, a comprehensive understanding of the jurisdiction and markets where Basham operates, and a shared commitment to its values and future growth.
