Leading Mexican law firm Basham, Ringe y Correa is pleased to announce the expansion of its Tax Practice with the addition of Ramón de la Torre as a partner in its Mexico City office.
Ramón’s practice focuses on tax controversy and litigation, including international taxation, transfer pricing, as well as strategic tax planning for complex cross-border transactions.
“Ramón brings a wealth of experience acting as tax counsel on sophisticated, cross-border deals,” said Eduardo Kleinberg, Executive Partner at Basham. “His arrival further strengthens our tax offering and reinforces Basham’s position as a market leader in tax law.”
Ramón earned his Law Degree with honors from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), holds a master’s degree in taxation from Universidad Panamericana, and an LL.M. in International Taxation from New York University, where he was a Fulbright Scholar in 2016.
His addition is a significant step in the continued growth of Basham’s top-tier Tax Practice, known for its work in high-stakes, multijurisdictional tax matters, tax litigation, and wealth management. Basham is widely known in the legal market for its strong M&A and finance practices, in addition to its Intellectual Property, competition, litigation and labour offerings. Ramón joins Basham from Creel, García-Cuéllar, Aiza y Enríquez, S.C. His arrival follows other strategic recent hires: Carlos Martínez Betanzos, who joined as partner to lead the Arbitration and Civil and Commercial Litigation practices, as well as the addition of Mariana González Vargas as a partner in the Intellectual Property practice.
